Want to Get Away?
Sitting on a secluded peninsula amidst a 280 acre farm in Arkansas County, The CrossHeirs Retreat Center is the ideal location for your next church, corporate, or ministry retreat. It is set adjacent to the beautiful Bayou Meto Wildlife Management Area. The Retreat Center provides both conference and retreat facilities, as well as a peaceful secluded location to "get away from it all" and focus on what's really important.
Big Jim's Lodge is the centerpiece of CrossHeirs. The 14,000 square foot facility was built in 1999 as a duck hunting lodge. Once dubbed by the Wall Street Journal as "The Taj Mahal of Duck Hunting," Big Jim's is now dedicated to helping you fulfill your ministry.
Each of Big Jim's 16 rooms come with two queen size beds and a private bathroom. 5-Star celebrity chef, Paul Uher, and his wife Donna have the run of the commercial kitchen and the towering den makes the perfect place for teaching and training, or just relaxing and reflecting by the fire.
If that's not enough, at the present time, a 35-acre lake is also under construction and should be completed by the summer of 2011.

Mr. and Mrs. Chef
Executive Chef Paul Uher has been hired to handle all food services at the lodge. He and his wife Donna, also a chef trained at the Cordon Bleu School in San Francisco, will serve as caretakers. Uher was co-owner of Chef Paul's restaurant in Hot Springs, and prior to that, Restaurant Pompeii.
He has worked for various restaurants and food services companies as a consultant and his family owned a restaurant in upstate New York for 20 years. For approximately 10 years, Chef Paul had his own weekly television program, "Wild Cookin' with Chef Paul," that was a part of the AdventureBound Outdoors series on The Outdoor Channel. He also had his own television show, "Cookin' Wild," that aired for one year — in 2005 — on The Men's Channel.
Uher plans on developing a cooking program at CrossHeirs Retreat Center that will be available for guests.
